Mind Your Business (“we”, “us”) helps users discover businesses and helps business owners create and manage business profiles. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2) Who this app is for

This app is intended for a general audience and is not designed specifically for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

3) Data we collect

Depending on how you use the app, we may collect the following:

A) Account & profile information

• Username / display name
• Email address
• Phone number (if provided)
• Profile photo (if uploaded)

B) Business profile information (for business owners)

• Business name, description/about text
• Products/services and related content
• Business logo and featured images
• Other business profile fields you choose to submit

C) Location data

• Approximate and/or precise location (coarse/fine), when you grant permission

We use location to show nearby businesses and provide map/directions features. You can disable location permissions in your device settings.

D) User-generated content

• Reviews and ratings
• Reports (including text you submit)
• Messages or other content you choose to submit in-app

E) Device & diagnostic data

• Firebase Cloud Messaging token (to deliver notifications)
• Device/usage signals for app reliability
• Crash and performance logs (for debugging and stability)

4) How we use your data

• To create and manage accounts
• To display user and business profiles in the app
• To show nearby businesses and power map/directions features
• To enable features like uploading profile photos, logos, and featured images
• To operate safety and moderation flows (e.g., reports)
• To send notifications you request or that are necessary for account/app operations
• To improve performance, fix bugs, and prevent abuse

5) Sharing & third parties

We use trusted third-party services to run the app:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Database/Firestore, Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, diagnostics)
• Algolia (search and discovery)
• Google Maps (maps, directions, and location-based features)

These services may process certain data on our behalf to provide their functionality. We do not sell your personal information.

6) Data retention

We keep data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, including legal, security, and operational needs. If you request account removal, we will process the request and remove or de-identify data where appropriate, subject to any legal requirements.

7) Your choices & controls

• Update your info: You can change your username and profile photo inside the app.
• Location: You can enable/disable location permissions in your phone settings.
• Notifications: You can control notification permissions in your phone settings.
• Account removal: You can request deletion inside the app (or email us).

8) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to help protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above when changes are made.
